Wow! I put my hand on the typewriter to type up a little bit about Addison's call and my throat starts to hurt. I am going to be such a mess for the next two years, maybe forever!!! I am so proud of this boy and I love him so much!!! He chose to put in his papers to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as soon as he turned 18 in March. It only took about a week once the Bishop sent them in to receive the call. He had mentioned that he would like to go foreign and maybe learn a language on his mission. He knows that the calls are inspired and the Lord wants him to serve wherever he is needed. He opened his call and found out the location~ keeping it a secret while we guessed. I could tell from the look on his face that he was okay with it. We took a few minutes and guessed until Avery mentioned New York. Yep! It was Rochester, New York. It is going to be great!! He leaves July 30th and will serve for two years. He is excited. I asks him if he is nervous, but he always assures me that he is not. I think he will be fine. He will be serving in a strong Catholic area, so he will have his work cut out for him~ but he will do it!!!
Addison also received the Melchizedek Priesthood on April 20th. He is an Elder now and I just can't believe all that is happening in his life lately. He graduated from high school, received a mission call and became and Elder all within a month. I am so happy that he is my son.
What an awesome example!
