Ammon and I had been to Barbados before, so we knew what to do and how to get there. When we get off the ship, dozens of people try to get us to take their taxi or shuttle to the beach. It is silly, because we can see the beach from there. We just walk, it is easier and free. We went to two different beaches. The first was next to the Hilton hotel. This beach had waves for us to play in. We played there for a couple of hours and then walked through the main part of town to the other side and went to the beach where we snorkel with the Sea Turtles. This didn't go as planned though. We all got gear and jumped in the water to snorkel, but my mask kept coming off while I was in the water, so I ended up just treading water watching the others. Ammon was too busy making sure that Avery and Ada were okay to really enjoy doing it himself. Addison was able to spend more time doing it. Avery and Ada saw them and touched them too. It was a bit rushed because there were a lot of people in the water and the boats were crowding the space as well. I am glad we did it though. It was neat for the kids to see the turtles in the wild and swim with them. We got back in the snorkeling boat and it took us to a ship wreck where we did the same thing, looking at the fish that have made the boat their new home. The water was warm and the beach was great. It was Avery's birthday this day. He got to choose something special in Barbados ( a rock turtle) for his present.
