Ada~ SEM Debate

Ada had her SEM Debate tonight at Heritage Elementary. She was on a debate team with two other 5th graders in her school, but they had soccer conflicts, so Ada was a ONE-MAN-Debate Team.  She was so brave and confident. She felt so good about how she did.  She had two different debates against two different opponents.  One of the opposing teams had two girls, the other had two girls and a boy. Ada had to stand her ground and debate her side as well as the rebutal. She was so good. I was so impressed with her level of thinking and her maturity. A high school debate student stepped in for her teammates, but he hadn't studied the arguments, so he was really there for support and Ada did a fantastic job arguing her side, which was wanting to limit the amount of screen time to one hour per weekday for children newborn to the age of 18. She had some amazing facts and points that supported her argument.  This has been such a good thing for her.  I saw a confidence and maturity in her that I haven't really seen before. She actually thinks that she may like to be on the debate team in high school.  We'll see. It was a great night and I am so proud of our Ada~ and love her so much!
