Paul Bunyon is a symbol of might, the willingness to work hard and the resolve to overcome all obstacles. My dad is the living and real example of this. He has more of an unselfish heart than anyone I know. He sacrifices time, rest, physical pain and more for the benefit of others. He has always enjoyed the outdoors and cutting wood for our winter fires. He has cut wood for years and years. Since moving to Logan, he hasn't had the fireplace that needed a supply of wood and so hasn't had to cut the wood like old times. A few months back, Ryan's beautiful yard lost a EXTREMELY large old tree. It had rotted and fell to the ground, leaving a very large job. Ryan is a busy, busy dad, teacher and coach right now and my dad has stepped up as the BIG man, helpful father and great person that he is and works little by little on the task of cutting up this large fallen tree. He knows that it isn't as easy for him as it once was and he can't keep going as long as he once was able to, but that doesn't stop him. Like I said, he is a better than Paul Bunyon. He is a symbol of might. He has the willingness to work hard despite of challenges and the resolve to overcome all the obstacles he faces. My dad is a great example to all. His might goes beyond his physical abilities. He works hard in all that he does, whether it be his own home, his family, his church callings, his temple calling and family history work, and more. He keeps on keeping on and his strength comes from his heart and his desire to do all the good he can for all the people he can~ despite the sacrifices it takes.
Thanks dad for being a symbol of might and hard work in all that you do.
We LOVE YOU!!!
We LOVE YOU!!!
At this point in my life I am just grateful for each new day and pray always that I can be of some use to someone, and that I won't be a burden to anyone. There is nothing very heroic about me, but I guess I could emulate a folk hero of lesser character, than Paul Bunyan.
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU ALL FOREVER!
