What a great way to spend a day away from school and homework. I love the outdoors! It wasn't really meant for girls or mommies, but I don't have school on Friday's so I invited myself. Avery really wanted me to go, so while he still wants me around, I am going to take advantage of that! Love my boy! We got dropped off at Temple Fork and headed on trails of up's and down's through the beautiful Logan Canyon. It was easy for most, but a few of the boys and even a couple of the leaders had a harder time. It was hard on the legs, knees, and feet. I loved it! We had to keep them moving and even put them on one of the horses. I didn't hurt until almost the very end when my ankles started to hurt. I felt so bad for one of the horses. On the way up the canyon it got a little crazy in the trailer and kept kicking around. It was being cut up by a screw or nail that was sticking out in the trailer. It was bleeding all over. They put bandages and duct tape around it and had it still do the hike. I felt bad for it. It was a great day though. Besides, the horses, there was no blood. The weather was warm, but it was still nice. We left around 11:00 on the trail and got to the bottom around 6:00 p.m. I am ready to go again. I just love to hike!
I am so glad that there are still some people who enjoy getting away from the "technology" of this day and age and go for a hike where they can observe and learn from the Master Teacher. I'm always reminded, when I am in nature" that as smart as mankind would like to think they are, they can't put the breath of life into a single cell, let alone all the complexity and beauty of life and nature. I love that you love to hike.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love you all and always will.

Looks like fun! We love it up there. We've taken our bikes up Temple Fork a number of times, and along Steel Hollow once. I'm glad to see all the snow is melted so we can head up :)

These photos remind me of when I was a little girl in Laketown, I use to go there with my best friends family to get wood. We would hike all over that place. Such great pictures of you, Ammon, and Avery! Indeed, good way to spend a day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Summer!
