Christmas 2012

Christmas Eve~ Ada prepared the treat for Santa. She made a Christmas Tree out of a sugar cone, frosting and festive sprinkles.

Ada also made this Santa out of Legos that held the treat. She worked hard on it and was excited that it was strong enough to hold the treat without breaking.

Christmas morning, the kids woke up around 7:00. Instead of rushing down to see what Santa had left, they rushed into our bedroom, Ada on my side, Avery on Ammon's and snuggled for about a half an hour. Best Christmas Present I could have asked for.

We then got up and headed down to see what Santa brought and to open our stockings.  After stockings, we made yellow pancakes with strawberry sauce and whip cream and bacon.
After breakfast, we headed back to open presents. The first present was for all of us. We are going on a cruise to the Bahamas and Key West in February. The kids are so excited~ as are Ammon and I.  It will be a great way to spend some time together, get a break from school and work and enjoy some sunshine.

We are going on the Carnival Fascination.  It has been newly refurbished and has a new slide/waterpark area that the kids are going to love.

We are flying to Jacksonville, Florida and sailing to Nassau and Key West. It is a five day cruise. Not too long, not too short. We can't wait!

Avery made a Jar for Ada. Ada loves it. He spent about an hour melting crayons to make a design and her name on it.  Ada put all her gumballs in it and called it one of her favorite presents.
I had 2012 blog posts printed for the kids. I love how I can individualize each book for each kid. They immediately opened them up and started to read through them. I am glad that all my blogging is appreciated and counts for something.
Addison made me many, many pots, bowls and cups in his ceramic class. He claims that he messed up on some of them. As far as I am concerned, they are all perfect and I love each one of them. I love Addison for giving them to me.
The rest of the day was filled with playing with the various gifts they received. I feel that the "playing together" part is the greatest gift. They are really good friends and I am grateful to have them.
